TweetDeck as a platform

leave a comment »

I just updated my TweetDeck desktop app to the new version 0.37.0. One of its major features is support for tweets longer than the 140-character limit that Twitter imposes. If you tweet longer than that, the whole text shows up in TweetDeck. On Twitter itself, it’s truncated at 140 characters with a link that takes you to Twitter’s new deck.ly service.

I’d not seen this before – it’s a full user presence on the TweetDeck website.

Is TweetDeck developing its own platform? Looks like it.

The trouble with numbers

Do you think they might have got the decimal point in the wrong place? Seems a little on the pricey side 🙂

Dell’s 4G Streak 7 Tablet | Mashable

leave a comment »

[…] The Streak 7 is Dell’s successor to the Streak, an early Android tablet that — at 5 inches — was barely larger than a smartphone. […] The Streak 7 is an upgraded experience with a 7-inch screen and Android 2.2 (Froyo) — still a far cry from the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablets we saw elsewhere at CES, but a definite improvement over the last model.

The Streak 7 has a front-facing camera for video chats, a rear 5 MP camera with a flash for taking photos, built-in Wi-Fi and GPS capabilities and up to 32 GB of storage. […]

I have the original Dell Streak. It’s a great device, especially now that it’s running Android 2.2. I don’t use it as a phone.
